Advertising¶
Hi Nina! This page helps you make short, tidy web links that you can paste into Instagram, adverts, emails or a partner's post — and then see how many people actually clicked them.
What this is¶
A place to create trackable short links. A short link looks like rmsnordic.se/r/instagram-fall. When someone clicks it, they are sent on to a page you choose on the website, and the click is quietly counted for you.
Every short link has a target (the page people land on) and a short code (the little word at the end of the link, like instagram-fall). Each click is logged, so over time you can see which posts and adverts bring the most visitors.
How to open it¶
- Sign in to the admin.
- In the left-hand menu, click Advertising.
- You will see a list of your links. Active links are at the top; if you have hidden any, an Archived list appears below.
- Each row shows the link's name, its short link, where it points, and how many clicks it got in the last 24 hours, 7 days, 30 days, and in total.
- Click any link's name to open its detail page.
What you can do here¶
Create a new short link¶
- Click the New link button (top right).
- In Name, type a friendly name for yourself, like
Instagram Fall 2026. This is just so you recognise it later. - The Short code fills in for you automatically from the name. You can leave it, or type your own. It becomes the end of the link, for example
rmsnordic.se/r/instagram-fall. - In Target URL, paste the full web address of the page you want people to land on, for example
https://rmsnordic.se/sv/varumarken/hyalual. - Optionally, add Notes for yourself. These are private and only ever seen here.
- Click Create link.
- The link is saved and its own page opens.
Copy the short link and share it¶
- Open the link from the Advertising list.
- At the top you will see the Short URL with a Copy button next to it.
- Click Copy. The button briefly says Copied.
- Paste it wherever you like — an Instagram bio, an advert, an email.
See how many clicks a link got¶
- Open the link from the list.
- On the right, the Clicks box shows totals for the last 24 hours, 7 days, 30 days, and all time.
- Below that, the Last 30 days chart shows a small bar for each day. Hover over a bar to see the exact date and number of clicks.
- Lower down, Recent clicks lists the individual visits, with when each happened, the site the visitor came from, their IP address, and their browser.
Edit a link¶
- Open the link from the list.
- Change the Name, Code, Target URL or Notes.
- Click Save. A green Saved message confirms it worked.
Note
If you change the Code, the old short link stops working and the new one starts. Anyone who saved the old link will no longer reach the page.
Archive a link you are done with¶
- Open the link.
- Click Archive.
- The link drops out of the main Active list into the Archived list, so your view stays tidy.
- The short link still works — people who click it are still sent to the target and still counted. Click Unarchive to bring it back to the active list.
Delete a link for good¶
- Open the link.
- Click the red Delete button.
- A pop-up warns that the link and all of its click history will be removed and this cannot be undone.
- Click OK to delete, or Cancel to keep it.

| Short link / Short URL | The full link you share, for example rmsnordic.se/r/instagram-fall. Built from the short code. |
| Target URL | The web address people land on after clicking. Required. |

| 7d | Number of clicks in the last 7 days. |
| 30d | Number of clicks in the last 30 days. |

| Recent clicks — Referer | The website the visitor was on just before clicking (blank if unknown). |
| Recent clicks — IP | The visitor's internet address. |
| Recent clicks — User agent | The visitor's browser and device. |
| Status | Active (shown in the main list) or Archived (tucked away, but the link still works). |
Common mistakes¶
Watch out for these
- A broken Target URL. Paste the full address including
https://, and open it once yourself to check it goes where you expect. - Changing the code after sharing. Once you have posted a short link, changing its Code breaks the version people already have. Pick the code before you share it and leave it alone.
- Two links with the same code. Each short code must be unique. If saving fails, another link may already use that word — try a different one.
- Spaces or capitals in the code. Stick to lowercase letters, numbers, dashes and underscores, like
black-friday. - Deleting instead of archiving. Delete removes all the click history for good. If you just want to tidy up, use Archive instead — the link keeps working and the numbers are kept.
- Forgetting to click Save. Typing in a box does not save it. Always click Save and wait for the green confirmation.
